Welcome to my playthrough of Pokemon LeafGreen. This is not just an ordinary playthrough, it is a Nuzlocke Challenge! This is the popular fan-made self-imposed "hard mode" of Pokemon. The main rules and many optional ones can be found here: https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wi...

Here are the rules I will be using:
1) Permadeath: Any Pokémon that faints is considered dead, and must be released or put in the Pokémon Storage System permanently.

2) The player may only catch the first Pokémon encountered in each area, and none else. If the first Pokémon encountered faints or flees, there are no second chances.

3) The player must nickname all of their Pokémon, for the sake of forming stronger emotional bonds.

4) The starter Pokémon is based on the player's Trainer ID number. If the last number is 1-3 the player starts with a Grass type, 4-6 is Fire type, 7-9 is Water type, 0 is the player's choice.

5) The player may only use one healing item per battle

6) The battle style is set to "set" instead of the default "shift."

7) If every usable Pokemon has fainted, it is game over.

Pokemon LeafGreen was released in 2004, alongside Pokemon FireRed. They are the first remakes of Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow, which were remade again recently with Pokemon Let's Go PIkachu and Eevee. They added a lot of features that were new with Gen 3 (Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire), such as abilities and natures, and added more content in the form of the Sevii Islands. They are very different from the Pokemon games today (Sword and Shield), however, with the lack of key features such as the Physical/Special move split (introduced with Diamond and Pearl) and the modern Exp. Share. Nonetheless, these games are beloved by fans, and are often regarded as the best way to experience Kanto.
