In May, police from the 24th Precinct raided a homeless shelter on the Upper West Side at 4AM, running residents for warrants and arresting 22 people - but in all the press coverage, there is no indication of a shred of probable cause! This kind of unconstitutional police behavior is exactly the kind of illegal action we feared would happen when Mayor de Blasio appointed known anti-homeless bigot Bill Bratton (who in the past has spoken of "the violence and disorder of that population," and promised to "flush them off the street") to be NYPD commissioner.
