USC Chan faculty, alumni and students say "thank you" to former adjunct faculty member (1998-2007) Lela Llorens, who was inducted into the division's Hall of Honor on April 19, 2022. The Hall of Honor portraits are displayed in the hallway at the Center for the Health Professions building on the USC Health Sciences Campus, and in the Center for Occupational and Lifestyle Redesign located near the USC University Park Campus. Llorens is the 14th Trojan alumni or former faculty member to be inducted.
During her career, Llorens received numerous awards and recognitions, including the American Occupational Therapy Association's Eleanor Clarke Slagle Lectureship Award (1969) — the first and, thus far, only Black/African American winner of the Slagle award — the AOTA Award of Merit (1986) and the joint AOTA/American Occupational Therapy Foundation President’s Commendation in honor of Wilma L. West (1997).
