Shaking Things Up: VIRTUAL DEMENTIA CARE

June 22, 2021: ONDRI’s public talk on virtual care for people living with dementia. First up was Dr. Sara Mitchell’s review of the literature and her personal experience with virtual care for various types of dementia. Next, Christina Stergiou-Dayment described dementia support programs offered through the Alzheimer Society. Finally, Dr. Richard Swartz introduced HANDDS-ONT and new developments in research and care using remote sensor technologies. The event concluded with a Q/A session. Talk put on in partnership with the Alzheimer Society of Ontario.
The Ontario Neurodegenerative Disease Research Initiative (ONDRI) is a provincial collaboration studying Dementia and how to improve the diagnosis, treatment and outcomes of associated diseases including Alzheimer’s disease/Mild cognitive impairment, Parkinson’s disease, Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD), Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and Stroke.
ONDRI is carried out in partnership with the Ontario Brain Institute.
