In this short video, Dr. Doug Munoz, Queens University professor and ONDRI co-lead, explains the progression towards Alzheimer's disease/dementia symptoms, from the preclinical stages, through to mild cognitive impairment, to the final diagnosis.
Specifically, he reviews timelines through which various types of #biomarkers can be observed along the disease trajectory. These biomarkers include cerebrospinal fluid molecules, synapse loss, functional connectivity changes, and finally behaviour changes that indicate the presence of Alzheimer disease/dementia.
