My friend Chevis was born and raised in Baton Rouge. His formative years were spent in Zion City, the northern part of town. His parents struggled with cocaine addictions. He started dealing drugs in his early teens, dropped out of school, and spent 14 months in prison for drug charges.
Chevis has since found his way out of the drug trade and runs his own business. He tells his story and serves in ministry in hopes that his message will help others.
In this episode, Chevis discusses his incarceration, the incarceration of his friends and family the times he was held at gunpoint in drug deals gone bad, and the brutal realities of street life.
