As part of The Data Lab Community's Geospatial theme this August - join us for the next installment of our ever-popular Data & AI Meetup series!
------------------------------------------------
Geospatial data is used everywhere, it's the driving force behind apps like Google Maps and it's incredibly useful when you order your favourite food on Deliveroo. It's used for delivery tracking, weather forecasting, fitness tracking and so much more. Sometimes called location-based data, it is a data collection tied to a specific geographic location.
Our meetup will explore some of the interesting and innovative work going on in the geospatial space, before a a panel discussion and audience Q&A on the topic!
We'll be joined by our speakers:
• Bruce Gittings, Chair – Association of Geographic Information (Scotland)
• Gala Camacho, Founder – Diagonal Works
• Phillipa Vigano, Innovative Technologies Programme Manager - NatureScot
• Abigail Page, Head of International, Communications and Engagement – Geospatial Commission
• Adam Sroka, Director - Hypercube Consulting [Host]
We’re doubly excited to host this meetup as not only will we learn more about the fascinating world of geospatial data, but this event is also the official launch event for our Geospatial Fringe, which takes place throughout August! We’ve teamed up with our friends and network to deliver a series of in person events and webinars which showcase some of the key topics, initiatives and organisations across the geospatial ecosystem.
