Come along to the next Women in Data and AI Meetup to catch up with the community and connect with women of all experience levels working in data, AI & tech.
This month we're excited to be joined by Martina Pugliese and Cara Thompson to speak to us about the fascinating work they each do in data. After two short presentations in which Cara and Martina will discuss their work and some of the exciting projects they have each been involved in, we'll then move onto a fireside chat to discuss how their career paths have led them to where they are now!
As always, there will be plenty of time to connect with others in the community, build relationships, share challenges and explore opportunities to support one another.

Martina Pugliese, Senior Research Scientist - Inscribe AI
Martina has worked in data science for (ugh!) almost a decade now. She covered mostly research-oriented roles with an accent on building ML systems, but she also contributed to the various stages of data workflows: data pipelining/engineering, data analysis and statistics, data vizzing and influencing stakeholders etc. She led small teams and mostly worked in startups, but also in a large org. Because she's never sick of dealing with data (well, within limits!) she also runs a newsletter, Doodling Data, where she creates hand-drawn data doodles, rants about the data world and writes more technical/sciency posts.
Cara Thompson, Founder / Data Visualisation Consultant - BuildingStories with Data
Cara is a data visualisation consultant with an academic background, specialising in helping research teams and data-driven organisations turn their data insights into to clear and compelling visualisations. Recent exciting projects have involved a combination of bespoke R package creation to automate the data-to-viz pipeline and tool-agnostic dashboard design and data visualisation training to help organisations make the most of their reporting. She lives in Edinburgh, Scotland, with her husband and two young daughters. Cara regularly shares coding tips for dataviz online, and genuinely enjoys helping others level up their dataviz skills through talks, bespoke organisational training, and mentoring.
