Those who take a good first step in a sprint can sprint faster in the first few meters of the 100m sprint. Thus, the sprint start technique is partly responsible for reaching the finish line faster and running faster.
For a correct low start in a sprint, it is first important to shift the majority of your body weight forward onto your hands/arms in the READY position. Then, fully extend (stretch) the front leg and the hip joint, which is at the front at the start, so that the whole body stretches. The optimal angle for this straight line (imaginary line through the extended body along the longitudinal axis) should be 45°.
Have fun trying it out!
