Match and Index Function
Match and Index functions are useful functions that are used in tandem in order to extract the value of a cell from a given row and column input. This approach is an alternative to the VLOOKUP function.
The index function allows to select a cell from a range by using the row number and column number.
The match function allows us to use Row and Column headers labels.
By using a dropdown list with the row and column headers, the index and match function can be put to good use in extracting the value.
