In this Episode of Expert Excel with Dr. Chang, we are exploring how to extract the first and last name from a cell that contains the full name.
There are two approaches:
00:00:39 - Smart Fills
Type the first name next to the name
In the next row, type the first name, and Smart Fill will suggest the remainder
Rinse and Repeat for last name

Use =Find(" ", Cell) to find the SpacePosition
Use =Left(Cell, SpacePosition-1) to Get First Name
Use =Len(Cell) to find NameLength
Use NameLength-SpacePosition to find how CharactersInLastName
Use =Right(Cell,CharactersInLastName) to get the Last Name
