In this video, I troubleshoot a shopvac that simply will not turn on. After some research, I narrowed down the problem to either a blown thermal fuse or a bad switch. Turned out it was the switch! I simply soldered it into an "always on" position since I don't mind the action of plugging it in being "on" and the action of unplugging it being "off". For an extra $4 I could order a switch, but that is just a part that will likely fail again so why bother? I'd rather have it be robust and not require a fix again! I ended up taking the vacuum apart to grease the bearings and search for any other issues which will be shown in additional videos.
