In this video, I repair an AC window unit that is no longer blowing cold air. The only air I was getting from it was room temperature or even warmer. Going into the job, I really did not know what to expect. But upon taking it apart and inspecting things, I saw a heavy caking of pollen and dust and other airborne crap that had clogged up the evaporator coil fins within the AC unit. All I had to do was brush away these fins the best I could and I did this using a paint brush as well as an exacto knife. Both of which would not fit all the way back behind the fan blades so to extend their handle length, I gripped their handle ends with a vice grip. After I got most of the gunk off, I then took the AC window unit outside and I sprayed with the hose inside and out blowing the rest of it off of the fins. I used a hose nozzle that creates a jet of water by concentrating the hose output to a single laserlike point. Perhaps I could have just used this jet right off the bat and not had to do all the scraping and vacuuming. But I'm not really sure because that gunk was on there pretty good.
