Tsugaru Shamisen
A Tsugaru Shamisen is a new style of shamisen that was born in Aomori Prefecture, the northernmost part of Honshu. The neck is thicker, and the drum is larger than a traditional shamisen. It is characterized by striking the skin strongly with a bachi and moving the left hand finely and speedily.
