Welcome again, this time I wanted to review my Kuiu Ultra Star 1P Ultralight Tent. I just got back from a seven day backpacking elk hunt and might have a few choice words for this tent. Now this is at no fault of Kuiu or whoever manufacturers this tent for them. I think what I experienced was a design flaw of a single wall tent. It is compact so when I lay down, I am touching almost every side of it and with precipitation and humid conditions, everything was soaked. My beef with it as well is that it is advertised at under 20 ounces. Packed up, I barely got it under 30 ounces. Not a deal breaker. Where this tent shines is its price compared to other ultralight tents. I would love to try a Zpacks tent but it is more than double the price. I used this tent in Arizona and the dry climate there was perfect for this tent. I would call it a fancy bivy more than anything. I should have known better and taken my MSR double wall tent, but I was focused on saving weight and that came at a high expense.
