Sampling Synthesizer Sounds In Ardour
In this video I sample some sounds from my CZ 1000 synthesizer to create a sample pack in Ardour 4.
This also allows me to capture any sound I program in the synthesizer and use as a MIDI instrument.
You may say why bother? This overcomes the limitation with the number of notes older synthesizers could play at the same time. Some were mono-synths meaning only one note at a time. Other poly-synths were limited to 4 or 8 notes depending on the sounds that were generated based on the number of oscillators it had.
Sampling a sound and using as a MIDI instrument removes much of that limitation.
