In my spare time i love to design objects that solve daily problem.... Today, i decided to create a mould for some 3 inch quad propellers.
The project looked complex since the start, but i kept on going with my idea.
I sketched some ideas on how to create the mould, after a bit of research i bought a poliurethane resin with the aim to create functional propellers.
After sketching i moved to the 3D modeling, that was more complex than expected, being something that has a lot to do with fluid dynamics.
After 3d Printing the mould, i applied some polishing paste, in order to open the mould in a easy and fast way.
This is where everything fell apart.........
The mould probably was with too small tolerances, and i should have removed all the bubbles from the resin with a vacuum ( i don't have these tools).
All these and other variables brought me to one casted propeller, that broke soon after removing it from the mould.
At this point the only thing i could do was post this video either way, to show that with failure you make space for some learning.
To sum up all this in one single and powerful phrase :
"Better DONE than PERFECT"
