Swimming Dragon Qigong is a very popular and famous exercise. In our Huí Chūn Qìgōng set, the Swimming Dragon form is included in the complete long form. Huí Chūn Qìgōng can be directly translated as - Return to Spring Qigong – the word Spring here is a metaphor for youth, health and vitality - for easy understanding we can call this practice - Longevity Qigong. In the above video, we demonstrate exercise number 5 of our Huí Chūn Qìgōng Form which is named - 'Swimming Dragon' - this form of Taoist Qigong is characterised by twisting, coiling, and circling movements. The moving circles which we follow in the form are focused to three areas of the body: abdomen, chest and head - which correspond to the 3 Dantian Centers - thus this practice is also often called 'Three Ring Gong - 三環功'.

We will be having a Community Workshop on April 28th - and will teach the Swimming Dragon Qigong in detail - check here for more info : https://www.immortalarts.org/NEIDAN-W...

Huí Chūn Qìgōng was developed to build up and fill the body with the life force energy (Qi) and to rebuild the vitality (Jing), Bringing the body and mind into balance - helping to extend life, build health and develop inner harmony.

The original name of Huí Chūn Qìgōng is known as - Hua Shan Yang Sheng Hui Chun Qigong - 花山 养生 回春氣功.

This Qigong was developed sometime during the Jin-Yuan period (1115 - 1368) by Hao Datong 郝大通 (1140-1213) the founder of the Hua Shan school of Taoist Practice. Throughout the history of its practice, Huí Chūn Qìgōng was always taught under very strict, hidden and secret conditions – only taught behind closed doors in the temples. So we are very fortunate to have a complete system of Return to Spring Qigong - including Standing Meditations, and Qi Regulating Self Massage which are performed at the end of the form. It is a very complete and time tested Qigong which aids in health development, self healing, and longevity.

In our Community Workshop on April 28th - we will practice the Opening Movement of Huí Chūn Qìgōng to harmonize the 3 Dantian Centers and deeply explore exercise number 5 – 'Swimming Dragon' . Swimming Dragon Qigong form is wonderful for opening the spine, strengthening the lower back, harmonising the 3 Dantian Centers, balancing the endocrine system, and nourishing the kidney organs.
