Andrew Huberman is an American neuroscientist and associate professor in the Department of Neurobiology at the Stanford University School of Medicine who has made many contributions to the brain development, brain plasticity, and neural regeneration and repair fields.

He discusses four tools to improve memory: repetition, emotional engagement, caffeine, and taking photos. He explains how repetition strengthens neural connections and cites a study that showed emotionally intense language aids memory retention. He also suggests drinking caffeine to reduce fatigue and increase alertness and dopamine release. Finally, he challenges the idea that taking photos impairs memory and argues that it can actually enhance it by providing a visual image that is more robust in serving as a memory.
