Mining IIOT and Remote O&M
Many mining operations include transport of slurry, size reduction and refining or at least pelletizing at the mine site. Operations typically take place in remote and often inhospitable environments. IIoT and Remote O&M promises substantial cost reduction but also improved processing. Activities in coal, iron ore, phosphate, copper, alumina and other metals will be analysed. Arcelor Mittal is already embarked on global sourcing and total cost of ownership analyses for its steel mills and iron mines. It will be able to include both types of operations in a large cloud based IIoT system.
