$ 4.5 billion per year is being spent on filters, centrifuges, pumps, valves, and other air, water, energy products used to create alcoholic beverages. Wine, beer and spirits all have multiple processes which often involve higher temperatures and abrasive, difficult, sensitive, or unusual conditions. Italy and France are the biggest wine producers. The U.S. and China are major beer consumers. In the U.S. Vodka represents over 30% of the market and edges out whiskey in the #2 spot. Wine involves separation with clarifiers, flotation devices, and filters.
Pumps and valves are often required to move products gently to preserve product quality.
Depth filters supplied by Eaton, 3M and others are used in a number of processes. Decanters and clarifiers by GEA , Alfa Laval and others are widely used. The potential to provide superior products is enhanced by the unique needs of the manufacturers.
