How to Insert Serial Number Automatically in Excel
Auto Serial Number Formula first we will write equal sign, after this we will write If, after writing if we will press tab button and will get parentheses sign automatically, here our logic question is that if C7 front cell of serial number is blank, there has to be empty cell, so for this after c7 we will write equal sign, then will write Isblank logic, as Isblank is written after equal sign, automatically will get open parentheses sign, that if Isblank is false we need zero, so after writing Isblank inside parentheses, we can write false or can put zero, after writing this close the parentheses, write coma, and write Quotation marks or inverted comas, that if c7 is blank here we need blank cell, so for this we always uses inverted comas or quotation marks, after this we will write coma, as coma is written here we will get logical value, that if c7 is true then we need b5+1 that add this function one value inside last cell reference number. after writing this we will close the parentheses, now our function has completed as enter button is pressed we will get results. after completing this logical function, of If condition we will drag down this function, down to other cells, up to which cells we need, now we can see how this function works let's see that as we are writing any value in front of serial numbers column, automatically getting serial numbers. so in this way easily you can get serial numbers automatically in front of your data no need to go and write each time, and if data Infront of serial numbers is removed serials are also going to remove, so this function works with logic, if having empty cell it will show empty serial number, or if have any value will assign serial number against that value. let's apply same function on your sheet and let me know your function is working or not, if having any issue can write your comment under comments section, or if you need more clearance need this excel sheet can get link of this excel sheet down from description. if you like this video please thumbs up, share and subscribe my channel Setline Excel for more great videos.
