Tim Knight: INTERLUDE from “Short Pieces for Organ (Set 3)” | By Rien
A wonderful piece from @timknightmusic. With such tranquil pieces, I enjoy experimenting with registrations, phrasing, articulation, speed, and rubato to create a unique character for my performance while preserving the original notes in the score. In this case, I opted for a French romantic organ with an 8’ strings/flutes registration and a blend of 8, 4, and 2 2/3 for the solo voices. I played it slightly slower as indicated in a perfect legato style. This approach maintains the piece’s distinct English character while subtly incorporating a French influence. I hope the composer and everyone else appreciate my interpretation and performance!
