Area of a Trapezium (Trapezoid) — Two Ways to Derive the Formula

In this video we start with a problem that can be solved using the formula for the area of a trapezium. We show two ways to derive the formula for the area of a trapezium. That formula states that the area of a trapezium is equal to the product of half of the sum of its bases times the height. We then use that formula to solve our problem.
