Area of a Triangle — Formula, Smallest Perimeter Problem

In this video we derive the formula for the area of a triangle. We show that the area of a triangle is half the area of a parallelogram with the same base and height. So, the area of a triangle is equal to one half the product of one of its sides and the corresponding height. We also solve a problem where one side and the area of a triangle are given, and we want to find the smallest perimeter of such triangle.
