The AS VAL LCT is a great classic from LCT, which caused a sensation when it was released. Today, LCT offers some new variants of the AS VAL, including this "MRK" model which comes originally with an M4 type buffer tube (as well as a sopmod stock).
I find it a shame to sell the replica with a sopmod stock (rather than, for example, an AK12 stock which would have made it better in my opinion), but I do like the ergonomics much better this way, as I find the stock of the original AS VAL too long.
As usual with LCT we have a replica not only full metal but almost full steel, with a few exceptions such as the trigger or the stock tube. The finish is very "rough", which is probably realistic, but that does not make the replica very pleasant to handle. Moreover, if the adjustment of the hop up can be done by pulling the charging handle, it will really be at your fingertips, it will be better to remove the top cover.
For a price of 450 euros, the replica seems reasonably interesting to me and can serve, from my point of view, as a kind of "high-end base" for a custom. The original replica being, in terms of the technology used and out ofthe box performances, very standard.
