The Krytac Maxim 9 is the first GBB from Krytac. As far as I'm concerned, it's a nice gun. You have to love the design of course, but at least it has the merit of being unique and standing out from the competition. It works well, the performances are nice, you can even do full auto thanks to a switch hidden in the slide... The kick is not exceptional but I guess it comes mainly from the architecture and the balance of the replica.
One of the originalities comes from the weight of the magazine, in aluminum, which is particularly light (about 140 grams, against 300 grams for a G17 Marui magazine for example). Personally, I don't really care for that feature, and I wonder if aluminum isn't in absolute terms a poorer choice in terms of resistance to cool down. Even if in the state, the resistance to cool down does not seem bad to me at least at room temperature. Note: Marui magazines are not compatible. It would seem that VFC type magazines are compatible, but I don't have any to try.
The problem, and it is a big one, is the price. 302.90 euros seems like a really, really high price to me. At the time of writing these lines, I have not found it cheaper in Europe. I saw it at £270 in the UK (about 308 euros) and at €310 in France. This is especially frustrating considering it costs $240 in the US, which iin comparison means it's 25% more expensive in Europe.
Same observation for the accessories, which also seem very expensive to me. By the way, the full auto tracer kit, although it looks very fun; I think they could easily have made the original replica compatible with some full auto tracers already available on the market, such as the Acetech Brighter-C for example.
