The Civil Defence Control Centre was established during the Cold War era to coordinate emergency responses in the event of a nuclear attack. Located beneath a former care home, the bunker includes rooms such as a messenger room, plant room, and map/control room, all equipped with original fixtures like lampshades and ventilation systems. The site is in a fairly preserved state, providing a glimpse into mid-20th-century civil defence infrastructure.
