This small project concludes my first week in UE5. I've learned a lot, but I still want to learn so much.
I have plans for a short film of some kind set in a cyberpunk universe. So I tried building a cyberpunk city. It's made with the free Kitbash3D kit Neo City: https://kitbash3d.com/products/mini-k...
I finally figured out how to make the windows emit light. I also focused on learning how to import footage. It's a pain in the a** tbh. I found the best way was to export my tracks as an image sequence in Adobe After Effects and then import it into UE5. For some reason, UE5 don't support mp4 or mov in directx12. I think it's a bug, so I spend a lot of time getting the videos to play.
I tried to animate the lens focus distance to blur out the traffic videos a bit. But then the dancing woman wouldn't get blurred. Maybe because it's a png sequence with alpha? I'm not sure. So I had to discard this option.
I also want to learn how to get lights on the flying car. And maybe some kind of glow from below. But I don't know how to do this yet.

There's so much to learn still, but I'm satisfied with my progress this first week, since UE is entirely new to me.
