In today's video I'm going to be answering a question about language lessons that I had emailed in from one of my subscribers, Marie, Thank you, Marie, for your question. Marie asks "Should she learn in a group class or is it better to have private lessons" I have experience of learning both in a group class and in a private lesson, so I'm going to be talking about my preference and why I think one is better than the other. And I'm so going to be sharing some language tips here with you.

My goal is to help you with language learning motivation, to gain better language learning techniques so that you have a more fun language learning experience, and feel confident that you know how to learn a language, and how to teach yourself. Learning a language on your own like a polyglot is much more fun than going to language classes. I've learnt Afrikaans by myself and have had so much fun learning the Afrikaans language. Using language teachers and language tutors can be very powerful and seeking one out is very different from going to a language class.

When learning a language, it can be easy to get caught up using learning methods and techniques that we used at school. However, these learning styles are very old-school, and there are much better ways to learn a language out there, you just need to be creative with your study techniques.

Aside from learning Afrikaans and Spanish, I spend my time coaching others on how to learn languages, especially to get people speaking. I help people rid the negative feelings around language learning often left over from our school days and show that it really can be fun if you approach it in the right way for you, there is no one size fits all despite what a lot of educational institutions tell us.
