Graphite Pencil Soldering Iron
This video shows the making of a high-temperature soldering iron using graphite pencil lead. Graphite lead is a good material for making heating elements because of its resistive quality to electricity. Therefore, it can be used to make a DIY heating element. It is an easily available item for making a soldering iron. This soldering iron uses a 5V DC tablet/mobile adapter as the power source. Anybody with a basic understanding of electrical wiring can make this useful tool. However, due to the leakage of current, this tool is not suitable for sensitive electronics repair or soldering. Take caution because of the possibility of catching fire. If you are not familiar with electricity and electric circuits, do not try this DIY idea.
