To make a simple motor, start by preparing a copper wire coil. Wind about 1 meter of copper wire into a tight coil, leaving some length of wire at both ends. Strip the enamel coating from the ends of the wire to ensure good electrical contact. Shape the coil into a loop or figure-eight, ensuring it can spin freely.

For the supports, take two paper clips and straighten them out. Then reshape them into a stand with two legs, which will act as bearings for the coil. Secure these paper clips to a base with electrical tape or by bending them to fit. Position them so the coil can spin between them.

Mount the coil by inserting the stripped ends of the wire into the loops of the paper clips, allowing the coil to spin freely. Place a permanent magnet underneath or adjacent to the coil so that it is within the coil’s magnetic field.

To connect the power source, attach the two ends of the coil wire to the terminals of a battery. Ensure the connections are secure. When the battery is connected, current flowing through the coil generates a magnetic field that interacts with the permanent magnet's field. This interaction creates a force that causes the coil to spin. The rotation continues as the direction of the current changes due to the brush effect of the coil ends, maintaining continuous rotation as long as the battery provides power.
