"You're lower than lower than dirt!"
Maybe not the perfect character in this game, Kefka is most possibly my favourite Final Fantasy character yet XD Anyway, on with the guide!
MI am not having a basic crackdown in this character guide as there simply isn't enough room so on to the in-depth Kefkanalysis:
Kefka is an extremely slow fella, especially at the start of the game and the fact that he has so many bravery attacks makes CP rather limited but you definitely want to start on Speed Boost and Jump Boost in basic abilities to learn, then all the pluses, they're kind of a main priority. Trust me. Then there are some really bad Brave Moves you probably won't ever want to use, I'll let you know about the two worst attacks that I personally hate and would advise you not to use, and why. (Bear in mind this is my opinion, by all means try them out, see what you think, worth a shot right?):
Twisty-Turny Blizzaga - Hugs the ground and zooms toward the opponent. Single hit. Almost never actually hits anyway. Even the EXMode version of the attack is bad, it just bounces as an added effect....-Cough
-Zap-Trap Thundaga - really just don't like this attack, they block it most the time with my current level. It used to be quite handy though so I guess you should use it when you get it etc. But it's not important, you can live without it. Seriously.
Here is my current attack list for him, Bravery and HP with a rundown of why I have them equipped for your reference:
GroundBRV:
Ultima I like mostly for the power and the EXMode version of the attack where it homes in and does attacks in between. I guess that mght be bad for some people but whatever.
Extra Crispy Firaga, I have this attack because it's just there. I barely use it, admittedly but it can get you out of some pretty tight situations, the EXMode version is pretty cool, too as the Firaga splits twice.
ScatterSpray Blizzaga, barely anyone blocks it if you're a relatively far distance away, it's a must have even if you have nothing else xD In my opinion.
AirBRV:
Waggle-Wobbly Firaga, I love this move! Basically, it's a fire spell that tracks down the opponent, it will speed up occassionally and when it hits the opponent it will trap them still (vulnerable for a HP) and continously do semi-weak damage but really handy. You can even spam it if you like but that doesnt work too well :P. EXMode version is great too as you summon two fireballs to increase the chance! Awesome!
Scatterspray Blizzaga, again? Damn right, having a whole variety of moves isn't always the best way, you know!
Ultima, yes, I know, shhhh!
GroundHP:
HavocWing, quite a cool move, basic, but it can be good when they are still/just blocked/in the Firaga move or if you're generally close. Apparantly the EXMode version makes it hit over a wider area but I've never noticed the difference...
Hyperdrive, I love this attack! I can get it to almost always hit, too! You charge a spell and Kefka falls asleep, depending on when you release it, depends on the basic after effect, to have the attacks track onto enemies in the air you have to charge it up fully. Just charge it in a clear environment, then when they get close, BANG! What makes this attack even better is when you half charge it or fully charge it (I forget which) he goes "Special delivery!!!" In a funny voice :3 EXMode version stops near the opponent before going at him/her again, really good in case they dodge the attack.
AirHP:
Havoc Wing, it's a good move, much better in the air. Well, it's the same move and effects but it's more efficient in the air really. Still handy on the ground though.
Forsaken Null: This attack is really quite good when your opponent isn't really speedy/pre-occupied/really far away. You become immoble but this weird vortex thingy appears above you and spits out a bright orb that drops down, the vortex will home in on the enemy and keep homing in even after they're hit. Even if the opponent keeps dodging, if you hang in there, you're bound to get a hit =D EXMode makes it so that instead of the Vortex homing in, the Orb does too, instead of just dropping, the Orb goes woooooooooo over to your opponent!
Note: I haven't put trine in there, and with this I'm not saying it's bad, I'm just saying it's not for me, though the EXMode version is pretty good I guess.
So there you have it, since Kefka lacks that of any physical strength (heck, the only physical attack he has at all is havoc wing and, if you're being picky, his chase HP attack which is a kick) and he's so slow and jumps appallingly, there isn't a lot to say about him as a character except for his depthful BRV and HP attacks which is why I went down that route for this Character Guide. I really hope it helped, he's a great character but he's just not exceptional. And don't forget, get Speed Boost!
