Nick Carter was the quintessential teen idol for many millennials.
The Backstreet Boys from 1996 to today still make thousands of people dance at their concerts, and Nick Carter was the most beloved member of the boy band.
The idols of the early 2000s were unstoppable, with hordes of rabid fans and the world at their feet.
But with the fall of Harvey Weinstein, Pandora's box was opened. Many victims spoke out about how the system worked, and Nick Carter was also affected.
Three women, Shannon Rooth, Melissa Schuman, and Ashley, spoke out and sued him for 4bus1 s3ssu4l1.
This was just the first scandal to hit the Carter family; further investigations were needed to understand what was behind this family, which unfortunately lost three out of five members tragically, all to overdoses.
What was the Carter family hiding? Was Aaron telling the truth?
The documentary broadcast on HBO MAX, Nick and Aaron Carter: Falling Stars, deals with two main, interconnected themes: the allegations of sexual assaults against Nick Carter by three young women, and the sordid background of the Carter family, a truly dysfunctional family, with two parents who treated their children like mere business, completely unloving and leaving them to fend for themselves.
Furthermore, we're given some more details about Aaron's personality, some of the things that happened to him, and the reason for his paranoia in the last years of his life, when he thought his family was trying to kill him.
In this first part, we look at the first two reports and the news about Nick that were overlooked at the time.
