Photoelectric principle: Some gear speed sensors use photoelectric sensors to detect specific marks or tooth profile changes on the gear. The sensor emits a light beam and receives the reflected signal of the light. When the tooth profile or mark on the gear passes by, the sensor receives the change in the light reflection signal, thereby calculating the rotation speed or angle of the gear.
Encoder principle: Some gear speed sensors combine encoder technology to directly measure the rotation angle and speed of the gear. This type of sensor usually includes a rotating component with an optical or magnetic encoder disk, which can accurately measure the speed and position of the gear
