WW2 and after the Dunkirk evacuation German Forces prepared to invade Britain.
A specialist unit called 'The Auxiliaries' were formed.
5,000 Units were recruited, trained and equipped. Each stay behind patrol consisted of between 4 to 6 men. They had a life expectancy of just 12 days.
These operators were so secretive that it took almost 50 years after the end of WW2 before details were released, many of their families never knew what they were prepared to do.
This is their story.
