Video Bernard Chevalier, violin. I'm recording this because it's the most popular Rode Caprice on my channel, and I've had requests to see a video "performance." I apologize for having an interruption from my phone in the middle. And yes, it's a very difficult caprice mostly because of the bowings... little interjections of 2 note slurs going all which ways. Takes practice and intense concentration to get through the piece in good shape.
Note that my violin today is playing a little stiffer because we're having hot, dry weather here in California. When the fog is in, touches are more relaxed. The reason for the change in response is about the soundpost in violins. The posts don't change but the top plate of a violin is a softer wood which moves with the weather.
