How do you draw the features of the face more accurately? In this video, I would like to share with you a very special exercise that involves drawing a portrait upside down from a reference photo. Once you give this process a try, you will be able to draw more easily, because you will be learning to draw what you see, not draw what you "think" you see.
This is an exercise that comes from a very good book from Betty Edwards called Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain. It is especially helpful if you are a beginner just learning how to draw. When you draw a portrait (or anything else, really) upside down, it slows down the left-brain focus on logic and identification and puts you into a more right-brain, meditative flow of abstract, spatial concepts and interaction with the basic elements of art.
