S.P.Y. Presentations - What is S.P.Y.? Creating Ideas that Stick.
How do ensure that your ideas STICK when you communicate?
The whole idea of Sticky SPY as a presentation concept was created to help individuals design presentations that STICK, leaving lasting impressions.
Getting ideas to stick to the minds of the audience is not difficult when we have a system that guides us. The three key ingredients to making ideas sticky are SIMPLE, PERSUASIVE, and YOUTHFUL. This is what the S.P.Y. in Sticky SPY represents, and when implemented as intended, they are very powerful.
Twelve years ago when I started on this journey, I wanted to help individuals and organizations create better presentations. Not just presenting, but how to design visual content that is simple and easy to understand. I needed to develop strategies that are easy to comprehend, easy to apply, and also easy to remember. Whatever they learn, they must also somehow remember it easily. And so I decided on Sticky SPY. The name is interesting and creates curiosity. It is also kind of Sticky (an idea that sticks to the mind).
So at a very high level, the idea is to have 3 ingredients coming together as a combination to make anything Sticky. To ensure the idea stick, we must present information that is simple. When the information is simple, people must also believe it. So the second ingredient P is persuasive. And for people to want to keep following you, you want to make sure the information is also exciting. The third ingredient Y is youthful. Meaning young, fresh, and exciting.
So that was how S.P.Y. came about.
