Ford announced that it was adding important names to its SYNC car infotainment system

Earlier this year, Ford announced that it was adding two important names to its SYNC car infotainment system for iPhone users: Amazon Alexa and Google's Waze. The company was in the city exhibiting the Ford EcoSport, a small economy SUV originally launched in China, which has since reached Europe and, now, the United States. Equipped with the latest version of SYNC 3, these small SUVs are about to hit the streets of the United States for the first time, with Ford hoping to get a new bite out of the growing market of trucks, SUVs and crossovers. Alexa had already been in Ford cars with a more limited capacity, so let's start with Waze. Google's proprietary navigation service has been available on Android Auto since last summer, and now Ford's integration means there's finally a way to work with iPhones. Apple, predictably, probably does not want users to choose anything in Apple Maps while using CarPlay.

It's great to see Waze working on the touch screen almost at eye level on the EcoSport board, which is quite clear, colorful and clear. I always liked to use Waze, but the characteristics of the community, such as reporting traffic, police and other things that you find on the road, have always seemed a distraction while driving. That's why I've always liked to use Waze more as a passenger. Moving the whole experience to the touch screen of the car feels much more natural when I drive. And it is the complete experience. Like CarPlay or Android Auto, the Waze application in this situation is still running on your phone while reflecting a version in the car's main unit.
