Heyo.
We rejoin Glamek Wildsong, the half Bosmer half Imperial transplant who doesn’t know he’s a werewolf as he adjusts to a new life in the unforgiving wilds of Skyrim. After a long night, he is woken up by the bark of a dog. Better that than another howling werewolf or screaming bandit.
He grumbles and rises, deciding to head Bronze Water Cave and slay a beast for the people. After leaving the tent and surveying his camp, he chances upon a canine and instantly thinks back to Keyvlin, his wolf companion that died after the boat went down up north. He names him Garm, after Garmin who was actually Keyvlin’s father.
Finally, Glamek and the new companion head off on an adventure and make way to the cave (4:20). They meet a Khajiit and Glamek moves by with little in way of mind. He doesn’t trust the cat people. He doesn’t trust anyone. And they’re part of everyone to him.
He feels a sudden call (6:40), something deep within him rumbling and beckoning him up a hill. As he moves closer, the humming grows so immense it’s almost painful..but exhilarating and..freeing. He didn’t think and moved to it, (8:14) and realized he’d been baited into a trap as a...thing, an abomination he’d never even HEARD described in partial, lept from it’s lair and attacked.
Glamek and Garm were in for the fight of their lives, having just met. The Demi God, the ONLY way he can describe it even now, was a magical monstrosity and had he not been narrowly avoiding death, he’d have marveled at it’s dark lethality.
Under a CONSTANT barrage of fireballs and even amidst an onslaught from a summoned frost Autronach, Glamek is forced to not only battle this Beast, but ALSO his human nature which at this moment was SCREAMING at him to abandon his patience and rush forward and attack...but distance and patience was his advantage.
“Patience, patience, patience,” he told himself as he worked it into a rhythm as he found his bearing.
“Slow is smooth.” RIP, reload,
“Smooth is fast,” duck for cover.
“Patience, patience,” RIP, reload,
“Patience, patience,” duck for cover.
And then, it was over (14:45). And then, after catching his breath and giving Garm a well deserved pat, they move onward to the cave. After a short battle, more between Garm and the wolf than anything, the pair move on out to turn in the complete missive to the Jarl of Winterhold. En route, a group of bandits take a shot at Garm and the duo respond in kind (30:10).
After coming across 2 separate bandit groups at once, (38:40) watch the way the pair already moves in unison. They continue moving and arrive at Dawnstar to seek recompense from the Jarl (42:50) and after arriving at their camp, they witness a battle between some Stormcloaks and Thalmor. Just as Glamek moves up to his camp, the elves attack Garm, sending Glamek into a rage.
Waking up, Garm excitedly barks, snapping Glamek back to the moment. Had he been injured or just so angry he did this? Or was it Garm? Either way, he way exhausted and full, sitting by the fire. It was another long day. Tomorrow, it would be time to perhaps venture into Whiterun? Or perhaps that smaller town to the south, further along the river? He’d decide on the morrow.
Glamek Skyrule #2 Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.
