Great filter for the price!
I bought this to put in a chest freezer that I converted into a cold plunge to help keep the water cleaner longer. My freezer has approximately 500 gallons of water in it and this pump is only rated up to a 200 gallon tank, but it seems to be handling the job really well! I have the freezer hooked up to an automatic thermostat and connected the filter to it, so it only runs when the freezer kicks on. Hopefully that will help prolong the life of the motor, but for $38, I have no problem if I have to replace it every year or so. It does produce a silicone like smell inside my freezer and I figured out it's because of the material the filter media is made of. I soaked them in hot soapy water to try and get rid of the smell, but it didn't seem to help. It's not a major issue, but I may remove the filter media and replace them with a different media later on. I placed it on the floor of my freezer pointed upward and it makes a good sized ripple at the surface, so I'd say it's pretty powerful for its size, and it seems to be pretty quiet, but that's not a major issue with me regardless.
Overall, it's a great filter for the price and I recommend it!
