In my quest to find new tools to articulate design, I purchased a hard surface modeling tutorial from CG Masters and have been obsessed with how much there is to learn. I didn’t want to recreate an existing car, so I designed a vehicle that would allow me to focus on all of the technical skills to control surfacing, reflections, materials, lighting, animation… and after all of that, I now know how far I still need to go in every category. I am fortunate to work with so many incredible talents that inspire me everyday. I train to make sure I appreciate what I am asking of my team. I train to explore visual communication and the art of design. I train for deep focus. Thankful for long flights and mobile tech that allows this kind of crazy 3D design from anywhere. I have worked in Alias, Maya, Sketchup, Vellum (if you remember that one), Form Z, and probably some other 3D software, but I have never had such access to the power and training, as with Blender3D. This is not a sales pitch for Blender. I recommend any tool of expression, especially paper and pencil. Enjoy the journey!
