Today I’m talking about the newest rum release from Mount Gay: Eclipse Navy Strength. This is the same Eclipse that you've always known but now at 57.1% abv. Since this is a cocktail focused rum, I asked Derek from the Make and Drink YouTube Channel to come over and help me try the rum in five different cocktails to see what kind of drinks it works well in and which ones to avoid.

3 drops almond extract
6 drops absinthe
3 dashes Angostura
¼ tsp. grenadine
½ oz falernum
½ oz simple syrup
½ oz lime juice
1 ½ oz sarsaparilla (or root beer)
1 oz gold rum
1 oz amber Jamaican rum
