Derek from the Make and Drink YouTube Channel joins me to answer the question, which unaged overproof Jamaican rum is the best! Or if not the best, which is our personal unbiased favorite. And we’re going to do that by blind tasting Wray & Nephew, Rum Fire, Monymusk Overproof and Worthy Park Overproof. We’re going to try them neat, and then we’re going to try them blind in three iconic cocktails that specifically call for these types of rums. Each round we’re going to pick our favorite and maybe even guess what it is. Cocktails featured are the Wray & Ting, Nuclear Daiquiri and the Rum Firewalker.

Wray & Ting
1.5oz Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum
4oz Ting Grapefruit soda
Garnish with a lime wedge
Add ice to a Collins or highball glass, add the rum, soda, and stir.
Squeeze the lime wedge on top and drop in the glass.
Nuclear Daiquiri by Gregor de Gruyther
1 ounce overproof unaged Jamaican rum
1 ounce lime juice
3/4 ounce green Chartreuse
1/4 ounce falernum
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until chilled.
Strain into a coupe or cocktail glass.
Rum Firewalker by Jason Alexander
3 ounces Unaged Overproof Jamaican Rum
1 ounce Lime Juice
1 ounce Cinnamon Syrup
1 ounce Campari
Shake with ice, strain into a Collins glass with ice, and garnish with a mint sprig and edible flower.
