Lend a Helping Hand
Every day, we work with families who are experiencing frustration and despair, and we help to guide them toward results that improve their lives. This is what we love doing and where our hearts belong.
But, the last nine months have been a challenging time for everyone, including us. With our annual fundraising event cancelled and fee-for-service income stunted by the community-wide business closures, expenses that would’ve been covered by this revenue have been difficult for us to make up.
Our primary focus is, and has been, on assisting with the community’s recovery, but we’ve also had to balance this against the reality of limited resources and unanticipated costs during these unique times. For example, we’ve incurred expenses for COVID-19 safety protocols; property repairs and maintenance; mandatory insurance premiums to keep our employees, consumers and visitors safe; and fiscal compliance requirements.
Even though this may seem insignificant in the face of the growing demands for housing, food and healthcare assistance, they are vital components that keep our agency’s doors open and allow us to aid in these more impactful areas. Without fulfilling these financial duties, we could not continue offering quality support directly to families through our programs.
