: : : CNC cutting - The Body : : :
After a number of weeks conferring with Douglas Mackay Short, pouring over his plans, learning as much as I could about using a CNC machine, and plucking up the courage to make my first cut... I dove in. Deep! (See more about Doug and our collaboration on his website: dsgb.net)
There were a lot on incremental steps, f*ck ups, and test cuts along the way, but I eventually finalized my very own Red Special body. Made from my homemade blockboard with oak inserts and just ever-so-slightly imperfect, but I couldn't have been happier to see it come together.
Music: "Rise" by Smokescreen. (My old band)
