This video is the first in the series "A Tale of Pi" which explores the most celebrated constant in the history of mathematics. The purpose of the series is to give a historical account of the discovery of Pi along with the progress made in its computation with time and how frequently Pi occurs in mathematics. The first video of the series discusses the brilliance of Archimedes and the failure of Greeks to decide whether Pi is rational or irrational. We also get to know about the gigantic number of digits of Pi that has been calculated using modern software.

The script of this video is inspired by the book "The Lore of Large Numbers" by Philip J. Davis.
