The Batura Expedition Disaster
Batura Sar is a towering peak located in the northwestern Karakoram Range in Pakistan. Despite its great height, difficulty and dangers of ascending Batura have relegated it to relative obscurity within the mountaineering community, as there have been only 3 recorded successful summit bids in the peak's history, with the latest of these taking place all the way back in 1988.
