Katie Rowan - Powell Lacrosse Legend
Katie Rowan left her mark on the game as a truly great attacker.
Katie came to Syracuse and helped propel the program to new heights with dominant goal scoring and playmaking ability. Under the tutelage of head coach Gary Gait, she became a truly exceptional player and leader for the Orange while also helping Team USA to two world championships.
Katie is a 3x All-American, 2x Big East Attacker of the Year, Soladay Award Winner, 2x World Champion with Team USA, led the Orange to three straight Final Four appearances, finished her college career with 396 points, and is the first women's lacrosse player to have her jersey retired for Syracuse.
With her explosive first step, deceptive shooting, and ability to dismantle defenses she got the Carrier Dome rocking. She would inspire a whole new group of stars to come to Syracuse and her legacy is still very present in the program today. It's special to see another member of the Orange family have so much success and it's been amazing to now see her climb the coaching ranks.
